This spring, Lanise with her co-founder, Janine Smalls reached their 1-year anniversary surprising many skeptics who didn't believe in their vision of bringing a vegan twist to soul food and Caribbean favorite dishes.
VeganHood a very popular restaurant making several top lists as all of their customers "eat for a cause" as a portion of VeganHood profits is donated to the 501(c) nonprofit they co-founded together in 2017 called Young Excellence Society, an organization providing innovative after-school programs and a summer camp. Lanise Herman-Thomas is an inspiring entrepreneur and is proud to have a social impact mission that is making a difference in their community.
